HLN’s Weekend Express anchor Lynn Smith gave birth to her second-born, Ryder James, on Friday at 12:50pm. She had announced her pregnancy during the tenth annual Mom 2.0 convention in Pasadona.
Ryder James Smith arrived weighing 8 lbs. even, Smith shared. According to PEOPLE magazine, he measured 20½ inches long and was born in Atlanta.
“💙 Ryder James Smith 💙,” the new mom captioned a family photo gallery. “We had no idea what our family was missing until you came into the world.”
She added of herself, her husband and their older son, 2½-year-old Lochlan Owens, “We are madly in love and so is big brother!”

When HLN was still led by Albie Hecht, Hendricks opted out of her contract in early 2015. But with Hecht out the door and Ken Jautz in charge of the network, she returned in early 2016 to anchor Weekend Express while Lynn Smith began her own maternity leave.
Following Smith’s return, Hendricks took her own maternity leave.
An HLN spokeswoman says Hendricks is working as a freelance anchor with the network.

HLN meteorologist Bob Van Dillen took advantage of the fact HLN anchor Robin Meade is off this week from Morning Express.
He began his weather forecast, “I usually don’t say Robin Meade is wrong, but she is this morning — that’s Atlanta. Morning sunshine?”
“Morning cloudshine,” substitute anchor Lynn Smith suggested playfully.
Van Dillen then vandalized one of Meade’s new billboards, promoting the morning show.
He tweeted, “I’m probably gonna hear about this one when Robin Meade gets back.”
