CNN anchor Anderson Cooper torched the fake news from Forbes, the New York Post, and various other news sites, as well as Donald Trump, Jr., that CNN had booked teen activist Greta Thunberg as an expert on a panel.
“Someone. . . claimed we had booked Greta Thunberg to be an expert on a coronavirus panel with other health experts.” Of course, Cooper pointed out, there was no panel at all — nor had there ever been.
Cooper went on, “No panels — just interviews.” He concluded, “I get Donny Trump Jr. attacking CNN and a 17 year old Swede; that’s like low-hanging fruit. . . It’s easy. I know Donny Jr. just wants his dad to love him, or notice him in a way that’s not mocking him, but I just find it fascinating to watch the phony outrage machine generate content on Twitter based on something that was never real to begin with, it’s kind of surreal to watch it just kind of all play out. In words of our dear leader. . . sad. Sanjay, yeah, I got that off my chest.”
In the video above, Cooper explains how the advertisement for this show was no different than previous town hall ads, and in none of them were there any panels — they were all individual interviews.Follow @CommentaryCNN
