Wolf Blitzer to host Bernie Sanders’ 2020 town hall

Senator Bernie Sanders is the next 2020 Democratic hopeful to receive the CNN town hall treatment. This time, the event will be moderated by The Situation Room anchor Wolf Blitzer, live from Washington, D.C., next Monday at 8:00pm.

“I am asking you to join me today as part of an unprecedented and historic grassroots campaign that will begin with at least a million people from across the country,” he wrote in an email to supporters following an interview on Tuesday with Vermont Public Radio.

CNN has previously had Jake Tapper host Senator Kamala Harris for a town hall, and Poppy Harlow conducted a town hall with potential Independent candidate Howard Shultz, and just last night, Don Lemon moderated a town hall with Senator Amy Klobuchar.

  1. If you listen to Mr. Anderson Cooper and Mr. Chris Cuoma, CNN is all about keeping them honest and telling the truth. Wonderful. Let’s see how much honesty and truth will be on display Monday, February 25, 2019 when Mr. Wolf Bitzer moderates a presidential town hall here in Washington, DC with Senator Bernie Sanders. Will the live audience which CNN is putting together be an honest and truthful representation of the political leadership, activism and voters in the District of Columbia, rather than the “DMV”? Will CNN and Mr. Blitzer allow questions about DC Statehood, lack of complete voting Congressional representation for residents of the District of Columbia and the constant Congressional intrusion in District local laws which impact the lives of District residents be asked? The issue is not the honesty and truthfulness of Mr. Blitzer and Senator Sanders. The important factor for this CNN presidential town hall in the District of Columbia is will it reflect with honesty and truthfulness the voters and residents of the District of Columbia?
