Outgoing Republican governor John Kasich met with CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker, according to a recent report in the Daily Beast.
Kasich, who is an ardent Never-Trumper and is also reportedly mulling a 2020 run against President Trump, was a Fox News weekend host from 2001 to 2007 and filled in on The O’Reilly Factor.
TV agent Ray Sures was also seen at CNN’s New York office the time Kasich met with Zucker, according to Daily Beast insiders. A Kasich official confirmed the meeting with Zucker, but denied any agents were present. When reached for comment, Sures only said, “I am a friend of his,” not saying whether or not he was representing the outgoing governor.
Kasich also reportedly met with MSNBC’s Phil Griffin as well.
Both CNN and MSNBC declined to comment.
