Beginning March 12, Jenna McLaughlin joins CNN as national security reporter based in the Washington, DC., bureau. She joins from the Foreign Policy Magazine, where she covered the Russia meddling in the US election.
Prior to that, McLaughlin covered surveillance, and national security law at The Intercept.
“I’m ready to take on an incredibly exciting new opportunity with an amazing team where I know I’ll learn an insane amount of new things,” she said.
“I’m also insanely happy, after a more difficult decision process than many know, to work in the ranks of the CNN natsec team starting March 12. I’m honored and thrilled and a lot of other things. And I will continue to be obsessed with spies and intelligence.”
