Megyn Kelly to HLN’s Ashleigh Banfield: You inspired me to be a journalist

On NBC’s Megyn Kelly Today, host Megyn Kelly interviewed HLN anchor Ashleigh Banfield about her recent remarks over Aziz Ansari’s accuser and the publication that posted the allegations, Babe.net.

At the conclusion of the interview, Kelly confided to the host of Crime & Justice, “You’re one of the reasons I’m sitting here.”

Referencing Banfield’s 9/11 coverage, she said, “I turn on the TV — you were the one I watched. You handled yourself with such dignity, such composure, not emotional, but empathetic for what was going on. I felt envy for the amazing job you were doing for America.”

“I could be like that woman — I could be doing a service for this nation,” she said.

Banfield replied, “I’m glad you settled for more, because we’re all beneficiaries of your work!”

1 Comment on Megyn Kelly to HLN’s Ashleigh Banfield: You inspired me to be a journalist

  1. As Samantha Bee pointed out on her show “Full Frontal” this past week, women were all over the map about Aziz Ansari’s accuser’s remarks.

But she especially took issue with Ashleigh Banfield.

Ashleigh may have inspired Megyn Kelly, but I doubt the same was true for Sam Bee.

Even Breitbart News chimed in with one of their glaring headlines, “Samantha Bee Gives Ashleigh Banfield Well-Deserved Skewering for Defending Aziz Ansari.”
