Erin Burnett denies being the one to file sexual harassment claims against MSNBC’s Chris Matthews

CNN’s Erin Burnett did not complain about sexual harassment from MSNBC’s Chris Matthews during her time at CNBC and receive a $40,000 settlement, she said in a tweet.

Following the news that NBC settled with a harassment claim against Matthews for $40,000, many on Twitter jumped to assume it was Burnett during her tenure at CNBC, citing an awkward on-air exchange the two had at one point.

But it was not her, Burnett says.

“It was not me. Period,” she tweeted.

Burnett and Matthews are currently competitors at the 7:00pm time slot.
