ESPN’s Kaylee Hartung joining CNN

ESPN “rising star” Kaylee Hartung is joining CNN as a national news correspondent based in Atlanta, reports The Big Lead. Prior to covering football and basketball for ESPN as a sideline reporter and appearing on SportsCenter, she has background in political journalism, working for CBS in Washington, DC, working for Bob Scheiffer on Face the Nation.

The Big Lead reports she will begin with CNN in April and points out that although she isn’t initially expected to contribute to Turner Sports, it isn’t out of the question at this point.

CNN’s Jeff Zucker reportedly made it known in the recruitment process of Hartung that he was a “fan” of her work.

Both CNN and ESPN declined to comment for TBL’s story.
