On Monday night, AC360 had an executive with PricewaterhouseCoopers scheduled to appear on with Anderson Cooper to discuss the Oscars flub, with the cast of La La Land thinking they had won, only to learn it was the wrong envelope, and Moonlight actually won best picture.
But the executive canceled on Cooper just 45 minutes before the scheduled segment.
Coooper mused on air, “The chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers, the accounting firm that’s in charge of the Oscar envelopes, was actually booked to be on the program tonight. He canceled a short time ago — like 45 minutes ago — apparently on orders from the Academy. So the plot thickens.”
