Reports abounded about the Donald Trump administration blacklisting CNN, refusing to send officials to appear on their shows, and avoiding the Sunday talk show, State of the Union, two weeks in a row. A day later, the administration sent deputy assistant to the President, Sebastian Gorka, to appear on the 4pm hour of The Lead.
This Sunday, Vice President Pence will be on NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox’s morning shows — skipping CNN’s Jake Tapper.
A White House spokesman told The Huffington Post the administration “offered multiple guests for State of the Union and they declined,” for this Sunday’s broadcast.
According to a CNN spokesperson, Pence wasn’t among the guests offered to CNN — instead, they offered senior counselor Kellyanne Conway. CNN declined.
