Two years after signing with CNN, Reza Aslan’s show prepares to launch

It was announced in March 2015 that religious scholar and commentator Reza Aslan would have a show on CNN about religion, with the working title of Believer.

Well, two years later, that show is airing on CNN, set to debut March 5 at 10pm ET. It contains 6 episodes.

As noted in the press release, the spiritual adventure series Believer follows religion scholar and best-selling author Aslan as he immerses himself in customs and faith rituals around the globe, exploring Ultra-Orthodox Judaism in Israel, Scientology in the U.S., Hindu asceticism in India, Vodou in Haiti, Santa Muerte in Mexico, and an apocalyptic doomsday cult in Hawaii.

The hour-long series, produced by Whalerock Industries with executive producers Aslan, Lloyd Braun, Liz Bronstein and Chris Cowan, will also air on CNN International.
