CNN anchor Jake Tapper today responded to Steve Bannon, President Trump’s chief strategist, suggesting that the media should remain silent. “The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile,” Bannon said in a recent interview.
Tapper, the afternoon anchor of The Lead, responded to that, “No.”
“A reminder that the president’s top aide just told the New York Times that the press should keep its mouth shut.” Tapper laughed. “No.”
Moments later, he let out another zinger, “That’s it for The Lead, I’m Jake Tapper, I’ll turn you over to Wolf Blitzer in The Situation Room: he also isn’t going to keep his mouth shut.”
