CNN crew member jokes about Donald Trump’s plane crashing, is disciplined

A clip has surfaced of CNN national correspondent Suzanne Malveaux prepping for a live hit Thursday afternoon on CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin. Flagged by FTVLive, the clip begins with Malveaux asking for some water and then later discussing what she would be reporting on for Baldwin’s show.

An off-camera member of Malveaux’s crew explained the signals she would use when Donald Trump’s plane landed, saying, “If I do this, it means he landed,” before adding on, “that means his plane’s crashed,” presumably gesturing something else.

In a statement, CNN said, “An unfortunate and inappropriate remark was made by one of our producers off camera yesterday. We have apologized to the Trump transition team, and the producer has been disciplined.”
