Jake Tapper furious over “If Jews Are People” chyron

Although Jake Tapper is off the air this holiday week, he has been in touch with his staff at 4pm for The Lead in regards to a chyron that read, “Alt-right founder questions if Jews are people.”

Chief security correspondent Jim Sciutto was filling in for Tapper on The Lead, and he offered up his own subsequent condemnation of the chyron as well.

Tapper said on Twitter, “I’m furious about that chyron and my staff has heard from me. Unacceptable.”

Tapper is Jewish.

Sciutto concurred that the chyron was “out of line.”

The video of the on-air exchange is below.
