According to a new report from The Daily Caller, CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker allegedly “ordered” Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter to not air a segment on Katie Couric.
Couric previously anchored Today, a program Zucker executive produced; and later, Zucker produced her talk show.
Couric is in the headlines because in a gun documentary she narrated and produced, there was a “misleading” edit. There was an edited pause following a question to the group regarding “the ability of convicted felons and those on the terror watch list to legally obtain a gun,” People magazine notes. The director of the film Stephanie Soechtig inserted the pause for “dramatic effect,” but in actuality, rather than there being a lengthy pause after Couric’s question, the respondents answered immediately.
A CNN employee was told, according to the Daily Caller report, “Jeff is close with Katie and we’re not about to give gun zealots any sympathy.”
CNN denies the report as “flat-out fiction.”

I really hope this isn’t true. Regardless, Reliable Sources is just an awful show. I miss the Bernard Kalb and (gulp) even Howie Kurtz era before he jumped ship to FNC.
