As the network touts, CNN continues to be the place where Americans watch election returns, with the network ranking #1 among adults 25-54 and 18-34 during last night’s Wisconsin primary coverage. In primetime (8-11pm), CNN was top rated with 650k, Fox News followed with 601k and MSNBC once again lagged far behind with 378k among adults 25-54. Among younger viewers (18-34), CNN was #1 by wide margins with 190k, Fox News had 104k and MSNBC trailed with 94k.
In total viewers, however, Fox News led with 3.019 million: CNN had 1.902 million, +29% more than MSNBC’s 1.479 million.
During the live coverage block (7pm-2am) CNN was also #1, averaging 451k to Fox News’ 442k and to MSNBC’s 296k among adults 25-54. In younger viewers (18–34), CNN outperformed the competition with 134k to Fox News’ 76k and to MSNBC’s 70k. In total viewers CNN bested MSNBC (1.340 million vs. MSNBC’s 1.110 million); Fox News had 2.010 million during this time period.
