Calling it an internal restructuring, CNN en Español has dropped anchor Lucía Navarro and cut her 11am news hour, Actualidad en Vivo, reports MediaMoves. Navarro has anchored the program since its inception three years ago.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with the entire team,” Navarro said in her response to the initial report, confirming her departure. “I’m very satisfied with my work at CNN. I now hope to start a new professional adventure very soon.”
Reportedly taking Actualidad en Vivo‘s place is a re-run of the morning show Cafe CNN.
This news comes as a report surfaced today about CNN slashing 50 jobs as it gears up for a $20 million investment into a digital expansion, as announced by EVP Andrew Morse.
