On Saturday, CNN employees such as CNN primetime anchor Don Lemon, political commentator Donna Brazile, national correspondent Martin Savidge, investigative correspondent Sara Ganim and senior media correspondent Brian Stelter handed out water to residents of Flint, Michigan, to help with their water crisis.
The CNN crew was in town for the network’s Democratic debate, which aired the following day, Sunday, moderated by anchor Anderson Cooper.
CNN partnered with Convoy of Hope to donate 500,000 bottles of water to the city over the span of five weeks. CNN employees, AmeriCorps members, volunteers and staff members from The Flint Journal, which is partnering to host the debate, joined together Saturday to start distributing the water at four sites across the city, reports Michigan Live.
