Just a week ago, during the Iowa caucuses, CNN handily won in the key demographic over Fox News and MSNBC.
This time around, during the New Hampshire primary, CNN fell to second place in the demo and a very distant second in the total viewership to Fox News.
CNN averaged 2.729 million total viewers, and 951,000 of them were in the key 25-54 demographic. In comparison, Fox News had 4.173 million total viewers, and 992,000 were in the key demographic.
According to the network’s press release, compared to the last New Hampshire primary (2012), CNN was up the most in total viewers increasing +145% (2.729m vs. 1.113m), MSNBC increased +66% (1.748m vs. 1.053m) and Fox News grew +86% (4.173m vs. 2.245m). Among adults 25-54, CNN also grew the most this year, increasing +137% (951k vs. 401k), MSNBC was up +102% and Fox News grew +80% compared to the 2012 NH primary.
