According to the network, CNN topped Fox News and MSNBC in the demo ages 25-54 during last night’s coverage of the Iowa Caucuses.
During the full coverage block (7p-2a), CNN averaged 1.082 million viewers, Fox News followed behind with 867k and MSNBC had 483k.
CNN also topped Fox News and MSNBC during primetime in the demo. CNN had 1.394 million, Fox News averaged 1.165 million and MSNBC trailed with 592k.
This represents the highest rated Iowa Caucuses in CNN and cable news history, among adults 25-54.
Online, CNN Politics’ mix of strong stories, engaging experiences, interactives, results and explanatory video won the day. CNN Digital saw record-setting audiences, registering its third best day in history, with more than 5 million unique visitors on CNNPolitics.com, 3 million mobile app users and 14 million unique visitors for CNN Digital overall.
In total viewers, CNN averaged 2.806 million (7p-2a), the network’s highest rated Iowa Caucus coverage ever among total viewers, and came in second place to Fox News.
