Don Lemon somehow avoids this year’s CJR worst journalism list

This year, CNN anchor Don Lemon managed to avoid making the Columbia Journalism Review’s worst journalism list — a list he made last year.

Last year, the CJR wrote, “Lemon’s gaffes this year offer a case study in how to choose words wisely — or not.”

Needless to say, however, Lemon didn’t really choose his words any better this year.

This year alone, he held up an n-word sign, sparking the outrage of colleagues and former colleagues; got muted; sparked a petition to fire him with thousands of signatures; interviewed the Cookie Monster; was told to stay out of Baltimore; cursed on his show; and perhaps most notably, he interviewed a llama.

Yet he somehow avoided this year’s worst list?

Unsurprisingly, however, MSNBC anchor Brian Williams made the cut.
