CNN Philippines anchor Roanna Jamir is leaving the network. In a post on Facebook, she said in part, “For 9 months I have been part of the Philippine franchise of CNN. I’ve met inspirational journalists. I’ve become friends with some of the most eager and promising ones. A true honor. I am thankful for all that I have learned and the memories I will take with me.”
She added, “I have decided to be a freelance journalist where I am able to travel, write music, practice my art, write my book, enjoy life and just be happy.”
In addition to anchoring Network News Weekend, Jamir also served as a correspondent for the network.

On April 28, 2014 (my birthday) I started working for channel 9 when it was still under Solar News. On my first day I was tasked with covering the arrival of Barack Obama to the Philippines for a state visit. I was nervous and trembling and really wasn't sure how I'm supposed to do the job. Just over a year later, today. I sit on the same desk, wearing the exact same suit I wore on my first day, as I bring you the news for the now, CNN Philippines, one last time. My final Network News Weekend is in a few minutes on ch9 CNN Philippines. Signing off with much Peace, Love & Light! ✌💖🌟 #finalbroadcasts #CNNPhilippines #news #reporters #television #goodbyes #newscasts
