Fox News’ personalities defend Sara Murray; Murray thanks them

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, who knows just a little about being targeted by Donald Trump, did a segment Wednesday evening on her program, defending CNN’s political reporter, Sara Murray. Earlier, Wednesday morning, Trump absolutely attacked her on New Day during an interview with Chris Cuomo.

Trump criticized, “Sara Murray didn’t report it very well because she never flips the camera to show the lines. I think she’s absolutely terrible, your reporter.”

Kelly confessed to not really knowing Murray. “I don’t know really know this reporter very well, but we took a quick look at her reports.” Kelly then recited Murray’s reports, and all of them, Kelly concluded, “were very fair.”

“The problem, Dana, is that unless you say it just the way he wants you to say it, you get hit.”

Former White House press secretary Dana Perino concurred, “I think Sara Murray is a great reporter, and I think Chris Cuomo did a good job trying to defend her.”

Kelly didn’t miss an opportunity to hit at Cuomo, with whom she has numerous feuds, saying, “You have reporters like Chris Cuomo, in this instance — where the reporter interviewing Trump in the moment says, ‘Am I fair, do you think I’m fair, I’m fair though right, do you think I’ve been fair in this interview?'” Kelly said, “They need his praise.”

  1. If, according to Mr. Kurtz, Donald Trump has praised the very reporter he’s attacking, either she’s done something personally to Donald Trump between the debate and that interview or Donald Trump is certifiably insane.

I don’t watch much CNN so I couldn’t comment on Miss Murray’s behavior.

  2. Donald needs to recognize who his media ‘friends’ are and stop attacking them.

CNN poached the right-leaning Sara Murray from the Wall Street Journal. As a retiree I watch CNN a lot and most of her reporting from Trump campaign events has either been neutral or positive.

Not as overwhelmingly positive as Harris Faulkner and Kimberly Guilfoyle on Fox News or Joe S. on MSNBC, but positive nevertheless.

Kudos to Megyn, Howard and Dana for defending Ms. Murray.
