CNN jacks up prices for ad spots for September GOP debate

CNN is getting ready to cash in on Donald Trump. The first GOP debate on Fox News of the 2016 season saw record high viewership, with 24 million viewers.

And CNN is hoping that their own debate will set records of its own.

According to the LA Times:

CNN is not disclosing its ratings projections or ad prices, but competitors are hearing that advertisers are being asked to pay in the range of $150,000 for a 30-second spot, a figure more in line with a hit prime time entertainment show.

A CNN executive told the Times “It’s a lot more than we’d get if Trump weren’t in it.”
