Former CNN reporter Chuck de Caro delivers emotional thanks to first responders

The husband of former CNN Headline News anchor Lynne Russell, former CNN reporter Chuck de Caro who was involved in a deadly shooting in an attempted robbery at a Motel 6 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, thanked first responders for saving his life, saying that he believed he wouldn’t have survived if not for their help, KOAT reports.

His wife, Russell, previously praised the Second Amendment for saving her life.

“The response from this city to help me in every way was just seamless and perfect,” he said.

On Friday, the journalist fought back tears as he thanked the first responders who helped save his life. He handed each of them an autographed American flag as a token of appreciation.

“Fly (the flag) for the independence of our country, which is the greatest nation in the world, which is the most exceptional nation in the world,” he said.
