As I pointed out last night, Anderson Cooper 360 was a taped show:
And now we know why: Cooper was hosting the amFAR Foundation for AIDS Research gala, which honored his close friend Andy Cohen, and also honored Miley Cyrus.
According to the event’s website:
amfAR will honor Andy Cohen and Miley Cyrus at the sixth annual Inspiration Gala New York on June 16 in recognition of their contributions to the fight against AIDS. Hosted by Anderson Cooper, the black-tie gala will also feature an auction of exquisite items, a sensational runway show, and unforgettable live entertainment.
The Inspiration series was launched in New York City in 2010 to celebrate men’s fashion and style while raising funds for amfAR’s lifesaving AIDS research programs. Inspiration galas have since been held in Los Angeles, Paris, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Miami, raising more than $20 million.
Cocktails started at 6:30pm, and there was a fashion show at 8, followed by the dinner, program and live auction at 9.
