State of the Union with Jake Tapper debut comes in fourth in demo at 9am, first at 12

New anchor Jake Tapper’s debut on State of the Union put him in fourth place in the demo, despite a full page ad in the Washington Post.

According to Mediaite:

In the key 25-54 ratings demographic, State of the Union garnered 62k viewers during the 9 a.m. hour, finishing fourth behind Fox’s Fox & Friends Sunday (248k), HLN’s Weekend Express (106k), and MSNBC’s Up with Steve Kornacki (85k).

However, in total viewers, State of the Union came in second.

In total viewership, SOTU brought in 381k viewers for the hour, finishing only behind Fox’s 1.1 million; and ahead of HLN’s 319k and MSNBC’s 312k totals.

The SOTU repeat (at noon ET) won the timeslot in the demo, with 120,000 demo viewers compared to Fox’s 89,000.
