Dana Bash given secondary SOTU role

Although the network announced this morning Jake Tapper is the new anchor for State of the Union, chief congressional correspondent Dana Bash (who has been guest-anchoring SOTU very regularly since Candy Crowley’s departure) was given a token role on the Sunday show, Hadas Gold of Politico reports.

Bash, who was under consideration as a potential host for State of the Union, will be Tapper’s official substitute anchor on the program.

She sent out the (obligatory) congratulations to Tapper earlier this morning for getting the gig many were beginning to suspect she herself would get, after weeks of anchoring SOTU:
