When Burnett breaks, so does her CNNI show

For all of last week, DC-based political correspondent Brianna Keilar was filling in for ratings queen Erin Burnett.

The OutFront anchor added on a CNN International show on the weekends as part of her new contract. Yet with Erin off last week, her CNNI program was also off — which is peculiar. The CNNI show just repackages interviews from the week, so it doesn’t make sense why CNNI didn’t have Brianna’s interviews air during that time slot.

In mid February, she revealed she was expecting her second child, causing me to wonder about the status of her CNNI program in her absence:

And, will her CNNI program continue during her maternity leave, or will it take a hiatus until her return? If it continues, it could help boost the profile of whomever is her sub anchor, because they will not only get a CNN Domestic audience, but an International audience as well.

From the looks of last week, I may have my answer: her show could very well remain on an extended hiatus during her upcoming maternity leave.
