The new Turner Broadcasting CFO will be headquartered in New York City. Previously, this post was based in Atlanta.
The AJC report below:
Turner Broadcasting System has named a new chief financial officer, shifting yet another senior executive post from Atlanta to New York City.
Pascal Desroches, who is currently based in New York, becomes Turner’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, filling the position in January. The company said he would have offices in New York and Atlanta.
He takes the place of John Kampfe, who is based in Atlanta and has been with Turner for more than 20 years.
Desroches has most recently been the controller for Turner’s parent, New York-based Time Warner. He will report to John Martin, who earlier this year became Turner’s first chief executive to be based outside of Atlanta. Martin’s primary offices are in the Big Apple.
The increasing pull of Turner executives to New York and other cities over the years has some local employees and community leaders worried about company’s commitment to keep a large and important presence in Atlanta, where it still has about half of its 13,000 worldwide employees.
In a discussion with employees over the summer, Martin said he was not considering shifting Turner’s core from Atlanta to New York.
