If it feels like this month has been more negative (people leaving), that’s because it has been. The month isn’t even over yet, and CNN has parted way with four “essential” (as in, not a low-level production assistant) employees.
Making their way out this month…
To begin the month off, I exclusively reported on the departure of CNN Newsroom from Hong Kong anchor Patricia Wu.
Then, with a bit of investigation from MVJR4, it was later learned one of CNN’s international correspondents, Mohammed Jamjoom, had also left the network. He later tweeted out an acknowledgment that he had, in fact, left.
Next comes word that CNN political editor Paul Steinhauser also left the network to join NH1, where he will serve as political director and anchor.
Most recently (and perhaps most notably), New Day Weekend and Smerconish executive producer and co-creator Nora Zimmett left CNN to go to serve as senior vice president of live programming at The Weather Channel.
Making their way in…
Not a new hire, but Robyn Curnow will be relocating from CNN’s South African bureau and heading to the CNNI anchor desk in Atlanta.
