Former FOX News anchor Alisyn Camerota has joined CNN. This just in (via numerous tweet by CNNers), so I'm not sure in what capacity she will serve yet.

It seems like her “permanent role” will be hosting New Day; they’re just waiting on Kate Bolduan to go on maternity leave.

UPDATE (9:55am) — The press release on her hiring…

Veteran anchor and reporter Alisyn Camerota has joined CNN Worldwide as an anchor. She begins today. Camerota comes to CNN after 16 years at FOX News Channel, which she left in March.

“I have been a fan of Alisyn’s for a very long time, and couldn’t be happier that she has agreed to come to CNN,” said Jeff Zucker, President, CNN Worldwide. “She is not only a seasoned journalist with a great curiosity and passion for the news, but she has a presence on camera that I think is very hard to find. I can’t wait to have her on the air at CNN.”

Camerota will contribute to all programs across CNN. A permanent role will be announced in the coming months.

“From the moment Jeff Zucker shared his vision for innovative storytelling at CNN, I wanted to be part of it,” said Camerota. “I know the power of cable news and it’s exciting to be going to the place that invented it and continues to be the standard bearer for stories of international import. I’ve always admired the fine work of the journalists at CNN and I’m honored to join their ranks.”

  1. I do like alisyn but I honestly feel she would look so much better, appearance wise, if she had a new hairstyle, shorter of course, much too much hair for her small frame.
